The Income Tax Department has sent notices to 15 social media stars who use sites like YouTube and Instagram because their income and profit reports allegedly don’t match up.
The government has started looking down on YouTubers and people who have a lot of followers on social media. The Income Tax Department is looking into this situation. Media sources say that the Income Tax Department has sent notices to 15 social media influencers who use sites like YouTube and Instagram because their income and profit reports don’t match up.
Income tax department sent notice

Media reports say that the Income Tax Department has sent notices to 15 social media influencers, YouTubers, and stars who claimed to be on vacation or shopping in a foreign country. The department started the investigation last week after searching the homes of about 10 young artists and actors in Kerala who are popular on YouTube and other social media sites.
Sources say that a data analytics investigation by the department found that these influencers and content makers were making a lot of money but either didn’t report it on their Income Tax Returns (ITRs) or didn’t report it as much as they should have. The biggest reason for this difference could be that they don’t know much about tax rules.
