How to Unsend Emails in Gmail Using the Undo Send Feature

If you use Google's Gmail app on your phone to send and receive emails, don't forget about the Undo Send feature. It's very helpful if you forget to attach a file or realize you misspelled someone's name after you hit "Send."

In other words, if you immediately regret sending a message after pressing Send, you have five seconds to "unsend" the email so that it doesn't get to its destination. You can also choose to extend this time.

In the Gmail app, you can undo sending an email by following the steps below. The second set of steps shows you how to make your undo send window longer than the default five seconds.

How to Unsend a Message on the Gmail App

1.Tap Send in the Gmail app to send an email.

2. As soon as you tap Send, look for a message that says Undo at the bottom of your screen.

3. Tap Undo.

4. Your first message will come back, and you can make any changes you want.

If you use Gmail on your computer, the Undo Send feature works the same way. You can also easily extend your undo send window there.

How to Make Your Gmail Undo Send Period Last Longer

5. seconds, 10 seconds, 20 seconds, or 30 seconds.
